A couple of weeks ago Claire Ellis and I ( Rik Pensa ) completed the Road Runner Programme,
an eight week strength training course for runners, working on core, hip, upper body and all the muscles involved in running, the result : Claire improved her Half Marathon time by 9 minutes at Stafford and I improved mine by over 3 minutes at Liverpool today. This proves that just clocking miles after miles is just not enough and an overall body strength is needed , plus it decreases injury risks. For more info about RR programme message me on Facebook .
